Activities & Curriculum
We utilize a variety of activities, such as free play, reading, arts and crafts, music/singing, dancing, dramatic play/pretend, exercising, and outside play. While incorporating in monthly themes and during play, children will also learn and explore with math, science and discovery, letters, shapes, colors, and number recognition. Some of the projects will be taken home to share with the family and others will be ones that you can ask about.
We work hard to teach the children their preschool basics such as the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, animals, and manners including sharing, please and thank you and we work on our table manners at each mealtime.
Some activities we do throughout any given day include, age-appropriate art projects, age-appropriate learning workbooks, and name tracing or writing, coloring, play dough, dancing, singing, outside play, story-time, free play, and clean up time.
Music and Movement
We are also currently offering bi-weekly Music and Movement classes. Children naturally love music! Whether it’s soft and soothing or a lively tune, children feel it both physically and emotionally. Throughout the early years, children are learning to do new things with their bodies and are learning that movement can communicate messages and represent actions. We aim to enhance your child’s development and love of music through song, dance, movement games, and instruments in our Music & Movement Classes.
Janet's Daycare is offering a Preschool Program for families that have children ages 2 years old up to kindergarten age. The preschool program operates from September to June each year, Tuesday-Friday.
If you have new or gently used craft supplies, we would love your donations for the preschool program.
